Crisp packets made from potatoes?

A leading crisp maker has said that they are aiming to use recycled potato peelings to make environmentally-friendly crisp packets.

Instead of sending the peelings off for animal feed, the waste starch from the peelings could be made into packets.

The potato peeling packets would be biodegradable, and decompose naturally into the ground.

Previous 'green' packets made from wood-pulp have been too noisy and crinkly for some crisp-lovers!
