Daresbury firm set for racing computer game first


Fancy racing Jensen Button from the comfort of your own sofa?

Real Time Race, based at the Daresbury Innovation Centre is making a racing computer game with a difference. Players of their game will soon be able to race in Formula 1 car races on their computer or TV at the same time as the real drivers and cars!

This is done by scanning a 3 dimensional model of the race track with lasers and cameras and putting GPS transmitters in the cars of the real drivers. The computer works out where the cars are in real life and puts models of them in the game you're racing in. Take a look at the video about them on the BBC website below.
