New 'Earth-like' planet found

Nasa scientists have found an Earth-like planet outside our Solar System.

It has been called Kepler 22-b and is orbiting a star like our Sun about 600 light years away.

The planet is twice the size of Earth, with a temperature of about 22 celsius.

That temperature is just right for liquid water which is an important ingredient for supporting life.

The scientists don't yet know what the new planet is made of - rock, gas or liquid.

Kepler 22-b was discovered by Nasa's Kepler space telescope, whose mission is to find planets like Earth.
